Some basic information about the Charpy Impact Test
The Charpy impact test is a test method used to measure the impact strength of materials. This test is meant to determine the fracture strength of a material through subjecting notched samples to impacts. This test reveals how a material behaves when subjected to impacts and to what extent it absorbs the energy. Generally, it is used to examine the fracture behaviour of metals, plastics and other materials and to determine their strength.
